How Custom Template Options Work

How Custom Template Options Work

August 22, 2024

Embedding specific options into report templates associated with different categories not only streamlines the reporting process but also enhances the accuracy, consistency, and relevance of the reports generate.

To streamline the process of generating liver ultrasound reports, you can create a template that allows for customizable options like drop-down menus and input boxes for various liver findings. Here’s how you might structure this process:

Liver:
The liver normal in size, shape, and echotexture. No focal hepatic lesions are identified. The intrahepatic biliary ducts are not dilated. The common bile duct measures [measurement] mm,which is within normal limits.

The underline words all can be customized as options let’s take a look how:

1. Liver Size:

  • Normal
  • Enlarged
    • If Enlarged, an input box will appear to specify the size (e.g., “The liver is enlarged, measuring [___] cm in the midclavicular line.”)

2. Liver Echotexture:

  • Normal
  • Fatty infiltration
  • Cirrhotic

3. Focal Hepatic Lesions:

  • None
  • Present
    • If Present, an input box will appear to specify the lesion details (e.g., “A [___]-cm hypoechoic lesion is noted in the [location within the liver].”)

4. Biliary Ducts:

  • Normal
  • Dilated
    • If Dilated, an input box will appear to specify the measurement (e.g., “The common bile duct is dilated, measuring [___] mm.”).

Example Filled Report Section

Liver:
  • The liver is enlarged, measuring 18.5 cm in the midclavicular line.
  • The liver parenchyma shows fatty infiltration.
  • No focal hepatic lesions are identified.
  • The intrahepatic biliary ducts are not dilated.

This is a simple example , you can create dynamic and unlimited templates options as you want.
